Welcome to our 10th issue of Aesthetic Medical Practitioner. We can’t believe we’ve hit the double digits as it seems like only yesterday we were working on the first edition. In this issue we continue to bring you information you can utilise daily in your practice as well as topical and hardhitting articles on the current trends and issues in aesthetics.

While the industry continues to grow and techniques are constantly evolving, safety remains paramount and it’s as important now more than ever to keep abreast of new issues and possible risks.

We examine one of the fastest growing aesthetic procedures, the Brazilian butt lift, and take an in-depth look into the potential risks involved, including the ASERF Task Force recommendations to increase safety (page 30).

On page 50 we give you the latest updates on BIAALCL and a review of the joint Task Force findings. We also shine the spotlight on the risks of highlighting these research findings in the mainstream media (page 55). With this in mind, we can only note with pride the high quality and standards relating to cosmetic medical and surgical procedures upheld by our Australian surgeons, specifically in relation to patient safety.

AMP is not all business – turn to page 128 for part two of our Global Festivals lifestyle feature (July-December) – we have your bucket list sorted! Plus, on page 134 we talk Wimbledon 2017 and take a look at the next generation of prospective contenders in the world of professional tennis.

As usual, we keep you up to date on the products, services and devices in the industry (from page 66), giving you detailed information to arm you with the latest tools for your practice.
